More of the Way back machine - presenting- The Lilybandits

These guys were called The Lilybandits, The Plaster Saints and The Waiting (first). They are a roots rock, alt country band before there were such industry names for bands. I found this on you tube, I used to run sound (drive the van, tune guitars, set up gear = Mom) for these guys way way back, well right after they graduated from High School and for many years after. We did more than a hundred gigs together, in Pitts burg, West Virginia, Michigan, etc. We opened up for some national bands and Toured around with The Toll. They used to have an unknown band open for them early in the days, called the Wire (not the 80's english band), which is now two of the same members from Watershed.
I always thought the Lilybandits had it in them to hit the big time and get a major record deal. The song craftsmen ship was there, the writing, the rocking and they were entertaining to watch live for sure. It just never happened - I think the record industry certainly missed out. They played this show (video below) in the final week of (Stache's) Little Bros. closing. The owner (Dan) asked them to get back together and play one final time. Todd the singer is still around and plays at Andyman's Bar here in town now and again. The others all have kids, wives, homes, white picket fences and moved on with their lives, after the big break never happened. We spent many hours and hours together traveling, hanging out and enjoying life - I miss them sometimes. I would have never been mixing bands or be where I am today in my career if it wasn't for them I think.
Enjoy the video, links and here's a good song from their first CD -
