Let's call this a catchup posting--
Well,here she stands, what I'll be riding, training on and racing this cross season.
UNLESS - someone wants to Purchase the Frame and Fork from me!! I am only interested in selling if it allows me to afford the purchase of a lighter, more 'race' frame. Contact me, lets talk money.
Otherwise if it does not sell, even with my training wheelset, she weighs in at a scant 19 lbs. I think with my Ksyriums I might be rolling about 17/18 lbs. or so. I think the cranks, ceramic BB, and fork all contributed greatly to the poundage reduction. Even though the fork is not the exact same angle as the original Gunnar fork, I think the bike actually handles better, there is less toe overlap and the front end feels much more comfortable. My only real issue now is to get rid of those handlebars, they are too wide for me and I don't like the way my hands sit on the hoods, it's just the bend of the bars. I am looking at some Ritchey or FSA bars as a possibility.
I took some well needed vacation from work late last week to sleep, rest, read, relax and enjoy working on a project or two I have been wanting to do for awhile.
Early Thursday, I finished installing the Spooky brakes on the Cross bike. It was a little tedius as the brake springs did not fit through the small adjustment holes on the Ritchey fork as well as they did on the Gunnar fork. Plus I replaced the brake pads on the front, which always takes some time.
Late Thursday and most of the day Friday I installed some LED lighting on the rear fender of my Blur Scooter and installed some front driving/fog lights. Roughly, a two day project, that included several trips to the auto parts store for relay's, wire, shrink wrap and other stuff.
I was hoping to finish the scooter project by Saturday a.m. then start working on installing my PIAA driving lights on my Subaru. But I wasn't so ready to take the front end of my car apart after spending so much time on the scooter project. That's another vacation two-day project.
Sunday, Jen and I scooted over to OSU to watch the OSU cycling club's Crit Race. It was fun to be there, NOT racing and watching everyone. I was amazed how many guys, look blown and overcooked from a long racing season. I am not sure any of them have taken any break yet, although I am sure most will not be participating in a full season of cross, so many will end their season in a few weeks.
I did get the Chevelle cleaned off a bit, but not completely. Gotta get that task finished soon.
overall a nice relaxing weekend...certainly helped resting the body, brain and lower back.
