QUOTATION OF THE DAY "The situation is like that movie trailer where a guy with a deep, scary voice says, ‘In a world where credit markets are frozen, where banks refuse to lend to each other at any price, only one man, with one plan can save us.’" -JARED BERNSTEIN, of the Economic Policy Institute, on the push for a financial bailout.
In an X-games style, extreme measure, I am thinking about stockpiling food in my garage, putting a freezer out there and getting my money out of our bank, well not today - but after I get back from vacation. What? too extreme? hmmm.
The Political Winter X-Games 2008 go like this - Everyone stops spending money in retail and other industries, stores/business die, people loose jobs, they stop paying their bills, default loans, more banks go under, the market crashes, dogs and cats living together, OSU not beating USC (not going to the "championship"), Lance comes out of retirement, McCain bows out of a debate - - oh whoops - dang, those last three have come true. The shit has truly hit the fan. blah blah blah.
You would think old lemon head GB, would have seen all this coming if he actually was in touch with the non-MTV - real world.
Crazy people will say, if John McSame is not elected, Osama will continue to reek havoc with our banking systems. That is truly horseshit, I just made up, you know someone will bring up, bin Laden himself said about his goals back in December 2001: "If their economy is destroyed, they will be busy with their own affairs rather than enslaving the weak peoples. It is very important to concentrate on hitting the U.S. economy through all possible means." This was echoed by al Qaeda second-in-command Ayman al-Zawahiri in September 2002: "We will also aim to continue, by the permission of Allah, the destruction of the American economy."
For GB - Life comes at you pretty fast - when you are supporting a failing war, being re-active in trying to save a failed 8 years of not paying attention to the economy, managing your own oil and gas billions, and hanging out with your rich friends.
And on some bike notes, Interbike is going on, along with CrossVegas and I missed it again.
and finally
I am bored with Lance Ditar, lets Daunce. (for you kids out there: the joke)
